Duchess Earl Grey Tea uses our traditional Earl Grey recipe, but with added orange pieces and lime leaves for a delicious citrus twist. Dried rose petals and blue cornflowers are also added to make this a very pretty blend. A refreshing, full bodied tea with citrus flavours to enjoy at any time.
Why Duchess Earl Grey?
To name our new blend, we went back into the history books to look for some inspiration. We learned that the Earl Grey (Charles Grey), associated with Earl Grey tea, was romantically involved with Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire (née Spencer), during the early 1790s, and to reflect the lighter, floral, romantic character of this blend, Duchess Earl Grey was named.
Health Benefits
As a black tea, Duchess Earl Grey contains antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that may offer various health benefits, such as:
- Boosting the immune system
- Aiding digestion
- Reducing stress and anxiety
- Improving heart health
- Supporting weight management
However, it is important to note that individual results may vary, and it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional before using tea as a form of health drink.
Milk and sugar?
Yes, Duchess Earl Grey can be enjoyed with milk and sugar according to personal preference. However, many tea enthusiasts prefer to drink it without additives to fully appreciate its unique flavours and aroma. Duchess Earl Grey is suitable for vegans and vegetarians as it contains only plant-based ingredients.
Iced Tea?
Absolutely! Duchess Earl Grey can be prepared as refreshing iced tea using a hot tea infusion. Simply brew the tea as instructed, but double the amount of leaves you would normally use. Allow it to cool, and then pour the brewed tea over ice. You can also add sweeteners, lemon, or mint for an extra twist. Duchess Earl Grey makes a great iced tea using traditional methods but also works really well as a cold brew tea.
